The USDA Forest Service has launched the Draft Revised Land Management Plan (Draft Plan) and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the El Yunque National Forest. This Land Management Plan, once it is approved, will guide management activities on nearly 29,000 acres of National Forest System lands in Eastern Puerto Rico for the next 10 to 15 years. You may find the Draft Plan in Spanish and the Draft Plan and DEIS in English online at: http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/elyunque/landmanagement/planning. The DEIS in Spanish will soon be available on the website.
Publication of the Notice of Availability in the Federal Register (projected to be on September 30, 2016) initiates a 90-day comment period on both the Draft Plan and the DEIS. During this period, you may submit comments electronically to commentselyunqueplan@fs.fed.us or by mail to El Yunque National Forest, El Yunque Plan Revision, HC 01 Box 13490, Rio Grande, PR 00745.
