LATINO HEALTH DISPARITIES (TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITION)

The University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position for scholars interested in Latino Health Disparities. The position will be in the Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (www.sph.sc.edu/hpeb<http://www.sph.sc.edu/hpeb>), and a possible joint appointment with Women's and Gender Studies (www.cas.sc.edu/wost<http://www.cas.sc.edu/wost>). This position was created under the University's innovative Faculty Excellence Initiative as part of a cluster of scholars who collaborate with one another and with the current faculty to participate in interdisciplinary research, teaching, and community engagement on topics of Latino immigration and the health and well-being of immigrant and host-nation families, and communities. USC is committed to research on health inequalities and disparities.

Candidates must bring a strong record or promise of scholarly achievement and extramural funding in one or more of the following: community-based participatory research, social determinants of health and well-being, or community health development. Candidates will be expected to contribute to interdisciplinary health inequalities and disparities research on Latino or immigrant populations in South Carolina, the southeast, and the US. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate and strengthen ongoing efforts from the Consortium for Latino Immigration Studies (www.sph.sc.edu/cli<http://www.sph.sc.edu/cli>), the Institute for Families in Society, the Women's and Gender Studies Program Women's Well-Being Initiative, the Department of Anthropology, and several existing community projects that address health inequalities in marginalized and minority communities in South Carolina.
