Pre-Faculty Research and Education Development (FRED) Grant Workshop

February 16, 2022 | Time: 12- 4 PM EDT | Location: Virtual

Registration Deadline: February 5, 2022

This one-day workshop is the outreach event for the FRED program. This one-day event will provide information on grant writing, especially for NSF and NIH grants with special breakout sessions for programmatic grants and various grant opportunities. This workshop provides information on what is needed to prepare for a grant, writing the grant, or how to revise a grant for submission.

The meeting will be provide time to speak with program officers and ask questions about different grant programs.

The Pre-FRED also provides details on what is needed for a successful FRED program application.This half-day meeting will take place virtually on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM EST.

ASCB Recruiting for Grant Writing Training Program

The recently renewed Faculty Research and Education Development (FRED) Mentoring Program provides year-long individualized feedback on grant proposals for senior postdocs and junior faculty from backgrounds underrepresented in STEM or at minority-serving institutions. BID program (Building Innovation through Diversity)

The MBL, world renowned for its convening power, offers research and training opportunities spanning the education and career spectrum with our Advanced Research Training Courses (ARTCs) at the heart of our mission. This year we are pleased to launch a new initiative which may be of interest to you. Using the ARTCs as a launchpad, the BID program (Building Innovation through Diversity) is an immersive, fully funded, 5-day program for senior post-docs and early career scientists who have been traditionally underserved in STEM. Engagement with our ARTCs (2022 ARTC Schedule), which attract participants from across the world, has many benefits including unparalleled networking opportunities with leaders in biological research.
