An ad hoc committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is examining defense-related STEM activities at minority institutions (MIs).
To better inform the committee’s deliberations on actions that may be taken by the Secretary of Defense, Congress, MIs, and other agencies or organizations to increase the participation of MIs in defense-related research activities, the study committee is requesting information from MIs on how their institution assess its current research resources/capabilities, determines its research aspirations in defense-related research and industries critical to U.S. national security, and engages with the Department of Defense.
This Request for Information (RFI) is designed to be completed in approximately 15 minutes, with a mix of open-ended, multiple-choice, and scale-based questions to capture a comprehensive view of the MSIs' and MIs' engagement with the DoD and their research capabilities.
