Health Services Research Dissertation Awards (R36)

Applicants are encouraged to make sure that their institutions are registered with both the eRA Commons and Grants.gov. Also, the principal investigators (PIs-in this case, the potential dissertation applicants) need to work with their institutions to make sure they are registered in the NIH Commons. The institution and the individual should allow up to two to four weeks for the registration processes to be completed and verified.
Application receipt dates are February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1 annually.
Applications must be submitted electronically to Grants.gov by 5 P.M. local institute time on the submission date.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) provides an array of intramural and extramural predoctoral and postdoctoral educational, research infrastructure and career development grants and opportunities in health services research. In addition, the Agency supports the development of health services research infrastructure in emerging centers of excellence and works with Federal and academic partners to develop innovative curricula and educational models.
