Sacramento State welcomes applicants to our Master of Arts program in Stem Cell Research, a Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Program. PSMs are innovative graduate degrees designed to allow students to pursue advanced training in science without a Ph.D., while simultaneously developing highly valued professional skills.
Our Stem Cell Research PSM is characterized by a combination of rigorous skills-based coursework in cell and molecular biology (at Sacramento State) and a research internship (at UC Davis) focused on stem cell research that culminates in a final project for the degree.
PSM graduates are eligible for exciting, well-compensated careers in science; employers of recent PSM graduates in the biosciences range from large, multinational pharmaceutical companies to start-up biotechnology companies.
Advanced coursework and research experience prepare graduates for immediate success as:
- Laboratory managers in stem cell and biotechnology laboratories
- Staff research associates in cutting-edge research laboratories at universities
- Doctoral candidates in applied biology
