Protein Biochemistry Position Biogen Idec (Cambridge, MA)

Research and Development Research and Preclinical Development This position involves the expression, purification, and characterization of recombinant proteins in support of Biogen Idec’s small molecule drug discovery programs. Candidate should have experience growing bacteria and/or yeast and/or insect cells. Experience purifying proteins using low pressure and high-performance computer-interfaced chromatography is required, as well as SDS-PAGE and western blotting. Qualifications 1-2 years of laboratory experience is required. Strong communication skills including oral and written forms are essential. Education Bachelors or Masters degree in relevant subject e.g. biology, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology etc. Additional Notes This is a six month contract position that they hope will turn into a full time position, but with no guarantee.
