Biopharmaceutical Sciences Position Biogen Idec (Cambridge, MA)

Pharmaceutical Ops & Technology Biopharmaceutical Sciences Biogen Idec is presently looking to fill an Associate Scientist position II/III in its Analytical Development Department. This individual will support activities needed to develop protein chromatographic and electrophoretic methods required for analysis of various protein drug candidates. Qualifications The candidate should have 4+ years working experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry. A good familiarity and experience with SDS-PAGE/capillary electrophoresis, size-exclusion chromatography, reverse-phase chromatography and UV/Fluourescence spectroscopy is required. Experience with other modes of chromatography and mass spectroscopy is desirable. The candidate should also have good math and computer skills, being capable of working with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint). Ability to keep a good notebook, follow instructions and work independently is also necessary. Education The candidate should have a BS/BA or MS in one of the biological, chemical or physical sciences. Additional Notes This is a eight month contract position that they hope will turn into a full time position, but with no guarantee.
