Mayagüez - Students from the Centro Residencial de Oportunidades Educativas de Mayagüez, known by its acronym CROEM, placed first in the competition of the "ROADS on Icy World" project carried out by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), where more than fifty (50) schools in the United States competed.

"The CROEM students awarded are: Natalia A. Díaz, Brittany Justiniano, Andrés Pérez, Enrique Núñez, Omar Torres, Benjamín Irizarry, Gabriela Martínez, Fernando Ramírez, Alex Vázquez and Adrián Núñez who managed to place in the categories: Best work plan, Best navigation map design and Best ID card (best characterization of living organisms).  They were awarded for their work in the development of space missions inspired by real NASA space projects. The competition consisted of completing different objectives within a mission. Our students stood out for their excellent and creative performances that allowed them to meet the requirements of the project," said Danelix Cordero, Physics teacher at CROEM.
