The University of South Dakota is seeking a motivated, collaborative, self-directed individual to be the program coordinator for USD’s Inclusive Science Initiative (ISI). This position will coordinate the grant activities including mentoring programs; workshops, trainings, and meetings; data collating and archiving; report and manuscript development; and overall grant management. The Coordinator will also develop and/or collect resources about best practices for inclusiveness in pedagogy and curriculum design; develop inclusiveness training materials; and build and maintain relationships among students, faculty members, administration, and staff. The Coordinator may teach a First Year Experience (FYE) course.

Required qualifications:
• Master’s degree
• Working knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in higher education
• Proficient in computer software applications (e.g. Microsoft suite) and office operations
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form in English
• Experience working independently and with attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills including developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a broad range of individuals
• Experience organizing workshops, events, and/or trainings
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience with curriculum or instructional design
• Experience with multi-group coordination
• Experience working with Indigenous people and communities
• Knowledge of natural science especially traditional ecological knowledge (TEK)
• Experience writing peer-reviewed manuscripts
