With a specific goal of advancing diversity in scientific research and discovery, the Blavatnik Institute, located on the quadrangle at Harvard Medical School, invites applications for up to four tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor positions in the life sciences. We are looking for early-career scientists taking molecular and quantitative approaches in the broad fields of biological and biomedical sciences, with a track record of research productivity and a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and equity. Departments participating in this initiative include Biological Chemistry & Molecular Pharmacology, Biomedical Informatics, Cell Biology, Genetics, Immunology, Microbiology, Neurobiology and Systems Biology. The search process will include a seminar as well as meetings with faculty and students, after which successful candidates will work with the search committee and school leadership to select an optimal departmental affiliation(s).

The Blavatnik Institute provides numerous technological resources and organized core facilities to stimulate discovery. All Institute departments offer an intellectually rich, career- supportive, and family-friendly environment that promotes creativity, innovation and interdisciplinary research. Because of our commitment to excellence, it is imperative that we foster a diverse faculty. Even if you are not a candidate, please respond by nominating excellent candidates who will enhance the diversity of the Blavatnik Institute through their demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Successful candidates will be part of a cohort of scholars with access to specialized resources and a community of committed mentors dedicated to facilitating career advancement.

Successful candidates will become members of the training faculty in one or more of the Harvard University Ph.D. Programs, such as the umbrella Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Program, and/or more topic specific programs including: Biophysics; Chemical Biology; Immunology; Microbiology; Neuroscience; Systems, Synthetic, & Quantitative Biology; and Virology, which all attract extraordinary graduate students.
