Dear Colleague,

We are writing to let you know about a valuable, new free service that the Genetics Society of America (GSA) and American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) are providing to the genetics community.

GSA and ASHG have launched GeneticsCareers.org to provide a forum for matching qualified job seekers with careers in all areas of genetics. By bringing together the world's two largest professional societies in the field, GeneticsCareers.org has the potential to bring together more than 12,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, genetic counselors, students, postdocs, and other professionals in genetics.

EMPLOYERS: If you or your colleagues have positions to fill, we encourage you to post those opportunities at GeneticsCareers.org. We invite listings across the breadth of our discipline, including academic, industrial, government, and nonprofit jobs. In addition to both full- and part-time jobs, we also welcome listings of postdoctoral and student positions.

JOB SEEKERS: If you are in the market for a new position, check out the growing list of jobs posted to GeneticsCareers.org, which you can browse or search by sector, position type, or location. We also invite you to post your resume to the website so that potential employers can find you.

GeneticsCareers.org is part of a growing set of GSA career development resources, including the following:

workshops and other trainee events at GSA conferences;

  • a new pre-conference professional development trainee "bootcamp";
  • career series interviews with professionals in a variety of fields;
  • travel awards for undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs; and much more.

GeneticsCareers.org is provided without cost as a service to the community and as a resource to our members. We encourage you to join GSA and ASHG to help support GeneticsCareers.org and other programs that benefit the genetics community.

In addition to your membership, we are grateful for your tax deductible contributions to GSA, which enable us to support and grow these and other activities.

Please feel free to contact us with any comments or suggestions at contact@GeneticsCareers.org.

Sincerely,

Staff and Leadership of GSA

P.S. Keep up with GSA by joining us on our website and at Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
