Free Educational Case Studies in Clean Energy for College Classrooms: BRIDGES
The Bioenergy Research and Education Bridge Program (BRIDGES) is a case study-based education toolkit developed to increase your students’ bioenergy awareness by immersing them in real-world, decision-making scenarios. BRIDGES was created by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) in partnership with Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) and Idaho National Laboratory (INL) as well as education, community, industry, and other government partners.
BETO and its partners have developed four case studies that include comprehensive student and instructor guides and resources for exploring each topic. Each is focused on authentic research and development (R&D) scenarios to secure the nation’s energy future using bioenergy technologies. Case studies provide opportunities for best practices in culturally responsive teaching and learning about environmental justice. The case studies are structured to be taught in diverse settings from high school to technical and community colleges to university courses. The classroom case study materials within the BRIDGES Program are designed to encourage future careers in bioenergy for all students.
