This is an excerpt from The Next Step Electronic Newsletter March/April 2006 Edition Early Careers Committee of the Biophysical Society- ____________ Help the Biophysical Society Demystify the Graduate and Postdoc Lab Selection Process! The Biophysical Society Early Careers Committee is organizing a database of contact-points in academic, industrial and government labs. The goal of this database is to connect people interested in working in one lab with current or former members of the lab. Remember how nerve-wrecking it was to choose a postdoc lab and/or advisor? Or a graduate project/advisor? Remember trying to imagine how it was going to be to work with that advisor, those lab mates, that project? How it often felt like there wasn't enough time, or a chance to hear enough comments from current members of that interesting lab? Register now to help other people in their search for the perfect lab! You can help connect people interested in working in one lab with current members of the lab, and/or give your own informal impressions about your current or past lab. To register, please go to: http://www.biophysics.org/committees/ecvdb.asp Not as many of us have registered for this in the past. This can be a great site to those graduate students looking for a post doc and even those of us looking for a 2nd post doc. Please register for this and spread the word to make this site work!! ________ This is an excerpt from The Next Step Electronic Newsletter March/April 2006 Edition Early Careers Committee of the Biophysical Society-
