Summary
Under the general supervision of the Science Operations Lead, the Data Center Student Assistant helps with observing software tools, data reduction tools, software testing, and development. The student will learn skills that contribute to general data center support for the observing support group. The student will get experience in software development, software testing, data management, as well as scientific data analysis, scientific processes. The student will work directly with a staff astronomer to support particular science research projects and to help develop software tools needed to analyze and visualize the data. This position is envisioned to provide the student with experience in a professional scientific environment while working on and contributing to science based software projects.
