With the support of the FCTIPR Office of Technology Transfer, a team of three female scientists and inventors developed a treatment to slow the progress of endometriosis, a chronic inflammatory disease that affects about 10% of women.

October 27, 2020. San Juan, Puerto Rico - The Office of Technology Transfer of the Trust for Science, Technology and Research of Puerto Rico (FCTIPR) announced that a new patent has been issued for the team of three scientists from the Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU) for a new treatment of endometriosis thanks to an inter-institutional agreement between the OTT, the Ponce School of Medicine Foundation (PMSF) and the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). The team is made up of the researchers; Dr. Annelyn Torres-Reveron, Dr. Caroline Appleyard and Dr. Idhaliz Flores, with the support of the PMSF thanks to Dr. Kenira Thompson.
