Engineer Javier Ocasio Pérez, a graduate of the Computer Engineering Department of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) Mayagüez Campus (RUM), led the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD) mission at the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.
