The following students form the UPR system won awards for their research presentations at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) in Seattle.

UPR-RP: Kiara Berrios (Biochemistry); Cristina María Ríos (Neuroscience); Eddie Pérez-Caraballo and Nadia Yusif (Social and Behavioral Sciences); Gabriela Fenollal and Joel Encarnación Rosado (Cancer Biology); Ivana Serrano (Cellular Biology); Bethzaida Súarez, Andrés Molina, Nelson García and Alexandra Vázquez (Chemistry); and Josean Reyes (Physical Engineering and Math).

Students at other UPR campuses: Darisbeth Rosario and Angélica Rivera (Biochemistry); Naomi López and Marlian Montesinos (Neuroscience); Giancarlo Colón (Cancer Biology); Nicole Rivera (Chemistry); Jamilisse Segarra (Physical Engineering and Math); Pura Gutierrez (Inmunology); Lidimarie Trujillo (Microbiology); and Luis Pérez and Juan Maldonado (Molecular biology and Computational Biology).
