The Association of University of Puerto Rico Alumni and Friends Abroad (UPRAA) invites you to apply for the UPRAA/Dominion Power Scholarship and congratulates you for your efforts in pursuing your studies.

The UPRAA/Dominion Power Scholarship Fund will award Hispanic students enrolled in the Mayaguez Campus who have demonstrated academic merit, commitment to public service, and financial need to help cover tuition cost for undergraduate and/or graduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), Mayaguez campus.

Eligibility Requirements

Postgraduate studies eligibility requirements in P.R.:

Be accepted for enrollment as a full-time graduate student for the 2016-2017 academic year at the UPR Mayaguez campus.
Be accepted for enrollment as a full-time graduate student for the 2016-2017 academic year with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00
Be qualified to obtain Financial Aid. Financial qualifications will be determined by the UPR financial aid office or the UPRAA Scholarship committee

Students must submit the following to be considered:

UPRAA/Dominion Power application form
Acceptance letter from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus
An official GPA certification/transcript sent directly to us from the registrar’s office (student copies will not be accepted)
Two letters of recommendation (from a professor/advisor or manager) with original signature
A copy of the Financial Aid qualification document or 2016 tax return document
An 800 word essay. (Topic included in the application form)
Two (2) 2x2 photo

Undergraduate studies eligibility requirements in the Continental U.S:

Complete High School with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 and be accepted for enrollment as a full-time student for the 2016-2017 academic year at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus.
Be qualified to obtain Financial Aid

Students must submit the following to be considered:

UPRAA/Dominion Power application form
Acceptance letter from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus.

Carefully read the information included in the UPRAA/Dominion Power scholarship package
Follow the application instructions and include ALL required documents with original signature/stamps for applicable documents
Review and proofread your essay
Complete and submit the materials requested in a timely manner
