Dear Prospective Student: The Department of Chemistry at Case Western Reserve University would like to invite you to apply to our Ph.D. program. We have a strong commitment at Case to help students achieve excellence in their academic and professional goals. Our graduate program is well known for fostering student success in a stimulating, cutting-edge research and teaching environment. Current research interests include singlet oxygen research directed towards photodynamic therapy, novel materials for molecular electronics and nanotechnology, mechanistic & catalytic reactions, X-ray crystallography of small molecules, nanochemistry leading to materials with applications from catalysis to phototherapy, environmental photochemistry, femtobiology and biophysical chemistry, enzyme kinetics and thermodynamics, synthesis and mechanistic studies on natural products, synthetic methodology development, and complex molecular synthesis.
