On November 9, 2023, EPA published a Federal Register Notice announcing the Agency is seeking nominations from the public of experts for EPA to consider for membership on the Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC). Nominations of candidates must be received on or before December 11, 2023.
EPA is seeking nominations from individuals who have demonstrated high levels of competence, knowledge, and expertise in scientific/technical fields relevant to chemical safety and risk assessment. In particular, the nominees should include representation of the following disciplines, including, but not limited to: Human health and ecological risk assessment, biostatistics, epidemiology, pediatrics, physiologically based pharmacokinetics (PBPK), toxicology and pathology (including neurotoxicology, developmental/reproductive toxicology, and carcinogenesis), and the relationship of chemical exposures to women, children, and other potentially exposed or susceptible subpopulations. Currently, there are 17 SACC members, with four membership terms that will expire over the next year. Therefore, EPA anticipates appointing up to four new members to the SACC by mid-2024. The SACC expects to meet virtually or will include an option for virtual participation approximately 4 to 6 times per year, or as needed and approved by the DFO.
Nominations from the public should be identified by the docket identification (ID) number EPA-HQ-OPPT-2023-0521, through the Federal e-Rulemaking Portal at https://www.regulations.gov no later than December 12, 2022. Please include the following information:

- The nominee’s disciplinary and specific areas of expertise;
