ELIGIBILITY
  • Student in good standing at a medical, dental, or veterinary school located in the United States
  • Do not have to be a U.S. citizen but have to be eligible to work with an appropriate visa
  • Cannot be enrolled in a combined medical, dental, or veterinary/Ph.D. program (e.g., M.D./Ph.D.) or Ph.D., or Sc.D. program, or have a Ph.D. or Sc.D. in a laboratory-based biological science

Spend a year—or a summer—conducting full-time basic, translational, or applied biomedical research.

  • The Year-Long Program gives you the flexibility to select your mentor and project from laboratories throughout the United States, including those of HHMI investigators and early career scientists, or be matched with a mentor at HHMI's Janelia Farm Research Campus near Washington, D.C. 
  • The Summer Program offers you exceptional research training in the laboratory of an HHMI investigator, early career scientist, or a Janelia Farm researcher.
