Scientists are living with unprecedented stress during this political moment in the U.S.
If you are feeling demoralized, burned out, or anxious, you are not alone.
Our resilience as individuals and as a scientific community depends on our ability to cope with the shocks, loss, and waves of changes that are occurring in our personal and professional lives right now.
You are invited to a free meeting on Thursday, April 17 from 12:30-2:00pm AST to support your emotional resilience at this time. This 90 minute meeting, led by two licensed psychotherapists on Zoom, will include tools for finding emotional calm, education on common psychological responses to the present upheaval, and time to share your challenges and be supported by therapists and fellow scientists.
This is open to scientists who…
- Have been terminated
- Have been threatened with layoffs
- Have had their grants cut
- Are still employed yet feel upset by organizational changes and the maligning of their work by the current administration
- Feel heightened anxiety or grief about ecological loss and the climate crisis in this moment
Scientists of any background or occupational position, including graduate students, are welcome.
