Sagrado Corazón University is searching for the position of Natural Sciences Director. The Natural Science Department is the second largest academic unit with approximately 1,350 students. It currently houses all academic programs in natural and health sciences such as biology, chemistry, nursing and exercise science.
The University is seeking a leader who can actively design and guide the growth and development of the department based on innovation. Health and wellbeing programs should be recognized for its learning and research practices - all in alignment with the University’s mission and strategic direction.
The position carries a faculty appointment to the University, as well as an administrative appointment. Candidates must have a PhD degree and an outstanding record of scholarly achievement together with a strong reputation in the broader sciences community. Must have leadership experience within or outside the academy; commitment to excellence and innovation in teaching, learning, and research. Significant relations within the academy and industry sectors in and outside of Puerto Rico; demonstrated knowledge and experience in research funding proposals and a dedication to develop a high-performing academic unit with excellent faculty and students for demonstrable social impact. Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
