We enthusiastically inform you that our fourth summer research program, funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI grant #5R25CA240120-05), the “Cancer Prevention and Control (CAPAC) Research Training Program” will be hosted by the University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center from May 28, 2024 to August 2, 2024 in Puerto Rico. Our program aims to increase the pool of graduate students and recent graduates to pursue a doctoral degree and/or a career in cancer prevention and control research, with a focus on Hispanic health and health disparities.
CAPAC will recruit the third cohort of trainees for a total of 25 graduate/health professions students and recent graduates from all racial/ethnic groups and cultural backgrounds to participate in a 10-week hands-on full-time research experience in Puerto Rico under the supervision of an assigned research mentor, based on the trainee’s interest. Some of these trainees, prior to approval by the program management and the mentor, might extend their experience for up to 15 weeks. The program will also provide seminars and workshops for the trainees. You will find more information about our program at http://www.cccupr.org/
